Hundreds of young people and young adults converged at the Accra Academy School Park to participate in the annual and 11th edition of the National Youth Rally. Present were, Mr. Manasseh Azure Awuni of Joy FM, Mr. Franklin Sowah (MTN Marketing Dept.), Rev. Seth Albert Ocran the founder of Torchbearers Mission Incorporated, officials from Scripture Union, GHAFES, YAFCA, and many more.

Speaking on the theme: “ The role of the Christian youth in fighting corruption; the God factor”, Mr. Manasseh Azure outlined numerous behaviours associated with corruption that the youth engage in and its effect on society. He stated that corruption is a canker that many nations are struggling with and Ghana is no exception. He also added that corruption is evident at all levels of society; from the grass roots through to government institutions and therefore today’s Christian youth must rise to the challenge of making a difference in their generation.

Recounting instances of encounters he had which could have compromised him, he urged the youth to resist similar temptations and endeavor to live a life of integrity against all odds. At the program, some individuals were honoured for their immense contribution towards the National Youth Rally since its inception in 2003. Some of them includes: Rev. Dr. John Owusu-Afriyie, Director – General of YAFCA Ministry, Rev. Seth Albert Ocran, Rev. & Mrs. Divine Kumah founders of Son-Life Printing Press, Legon Interdenominational Church (LIC), Korle Bu Chapel, Anointed Queens, and Joyful Way Incorporated. Also, some media houses honoured were Unique FM, Sunny FM, and Sweet Melodies FM. During the altar call, several students gave their lives to Christ and many councellors were there to assist them. They were given Bibles and other Christian literature.

Songs of inspiration were ministered by the Anointed Queens, Rev. Bernard Blessing, Joyful Way Incorporated, and Ps. Richard Asomani of the Salvation Army Band. The event was organized by Scripture Union Ghana, GHAFES, YAFCA, Bible Society of Ghana, The HuD Group, Challenge Ent., Torchbearers, GCMG, Youth for Christ, G.P.C., KlaDim Ministries, NACCC, Christian Council of Ghana, Son-life Printing Press and YUFRIST.
